Blackbird Global Foundation has joined with Africa HealthLink to deploy Health Pod Kiosks throughout The Gambia. Each kiosk is capable of screening 50+ health parameters from temperature to oxygen saturation to electrocardiograms. Health Pods can be deployed virtually anywhere, bringing essential health screenings and preventive healthcare to millions of West Africans. The initial pilot project will see these deployments in The Gambia.
West Africa has the highest breast cancer mortality rate in the world, largely because patients so often present at advanced stages. That is why Blackbird Global Foundation is working with local officials throughout West Africa to develop and support breast cancer awareness and outreach programs, including screening options.
Project managers oversee a variety of projects from building construction to disaster relief. These skilled professionals are in high demand throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, as many of these countries are involved in modernization efforts. Blackbird Global is developing Project Management Professional (PMP) Training Programs on a quarterly basis so African countries may have local PMPs who understand the culture overseeing their projects.
Africa is home to many impressive rivers; for countries like The Gambia, they are a nation’s lifeblood. Blackbird Global Foundation is therefore working with local governments and ORPC to deploy RivGen® Power Systems that generate predictable, emission-free electricity from the river in order to provide millions of Gambians with stable electricity.
